One clue word is nowhere in the grid, no matter how hard you look. That missing word is the murder method.
Read the leftover letters
The letters never crossed out are the leftovers. Together they spell two answers: the killer and the location.
Close the case

Murdsearch is a free murder mystery word search puzzle. Each case is a letter grid with a list of clue words. You find the hidden words, identify the one clue word that is missing from the grid (the murder weapon), and read the leftover letters to name the killer and the location.
How do you solve a Murdsearch puzzle?
Cross off every clue word you can find in the grid. The one word you can never find is the method. After all hidden words are crossed off, the letters left standing spell the killer and the location — unscramble them to close the case.
Is Murdsearch free to play online?
Yes. You can play Murdsearch online free in any browser — the daily case needs no sign-up. Registered members unlock the full cold case archive, up to 5 cases per day in any order. Registration is free.
Is there a Murdsearch app?
A native Murdsearch app for Android is in the works. Until it lands, the web version is fully playable on a phone — open Murdsearch in your mobile browser and play, no install or app store needed.
Can I get Murdsearch as a PDF?
Yes. Every case has a "Print this case" button that opens a print-ready, two-page sheet — the grid and clue list on page 1, the solution on page 2. Choose "Save as PDF" in your browser's print dialog to download the Murdsearch PDF.
